The best way to get from the city center to the Faculty of Chemistry, Jagiellonian University is by public transport or a reliable taxi network.
🚋 By tram or bus:
Take any tram or bus heading to the final stop Czerwone Maki P+R.
Convenient tram stops in the city center include Wawel, Poczta Główna, Teatr Słowackiego, Stary Kleparz, Teatr Bagatela, or Starowiślna. From these stops, board tram number 18, 52, or another line going towards Czerwone Maki P+R (11,72).
Get off at Norymberska. The ride takes around 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic and time of day, and the starting point.
From the Norymberska stop, it's about an 8-minute walk to the Faculty of Chemistry building.
🕑 Important: Depending on your starting point and time of day, a 60-minute ticket may be recommended to ensure you remain within the valid time window.
Please note: Due to ongoing renovation of the Grunwaldzki Bridge, some tram routes are currently diverted. This may affect your route planning, especially if you are relying on past experience in Kraków from before May 9, 2025. Updated routes are clearly displayed at tram stops and in transport apps.

Kraków has many reliable taxi networks – we recommend using one of the established companies rather than hailing independent taxi from the street.
You can also use Uber or Bolt, which operate efficiently in the city. Prices are generally reasonable, and you can pay by card via the app. Below we have described some taxi companies you can use.
Visa procedure
Please be informed that confirmation of participation in the conference required for visa procedure will be issued only after the conference fee has been paid.
In the event of cancellation or failure to attend the conference, information about this may be shared with the relevant Polish authorities responsible for visa procedures. We kindly ask all participants to consider this carefully before registering. Thank you for your understanding.
Getting to Kraków
Kraków is well communicated with major European cities. The most convenient way to get to Kraków is by plane, train or car. The railway and bus stations are located in the city centre.
Kraków Airport serves direct connections to many European airports and frequent flights to European hub airports, such as Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, and London. The airport is located on the city outskirts, but is well connected to the centre. You can reach the city centre from the airport by train, bus or taxi service.
There are two options to reach the conference venue from the airport with public transport:

Kraków Airport train station is located near the passenger terminal, at the rear of the multi-storey car park and connected with the terminal building by a footbridge. The passanger can reach the Kraków Main Station, which is located in the city center, and use the public transport (see below) for further travel to the conference venue. Tickets are priced at 17 PLN and can be bought from the airport's ticket machines ticket machines at the airport (the passenger terminal, level 0) or the station, as well as on board from the train conductor. The buses depart from Kraków Airport bus stop outside the terminal. Line 300 goes to the Rondo Grunwaldzkie 03 stop, near to the ICE Congress Centre, which is a convenient transfer spot. Line 902 is a night line which goes to the Teatr Słowackiego 02 station, located close to the Kraków Main Station. Further journey can be continued with public transport (see below). You can buy the tickets priced at 6 PLN at the ticket machines at the airport (arrivals, level 0), at the bus station, or onboard, as well as via the app (see below). Please note, that in each case, the ticket must be validated.
The main railway station Kraków Main Station (Kraków Główny) is situated directly at the centre of the city. The train connections can be found at the website of the national train operator PKP. The main railway station has excellent city transport services to other parts of the city.
In order to get to the conference venue go to the Teatr Słowackiego 01 tram stop, which is near the Kraków Main Station, and take tram line 52 in the direction of Czerwone Maki P+R, and get off at the Ruczaj tram stop located near the Faculty of Chemistry (conference venue). You can buy the tickets priced at 6 PLN at the ticket machines at most of the stations or onboard, as well as via the app (see below). Please note, that in each case, the ticket must be validated.
Getting around in Kraków
The city of Kraków has excellent public transport services, which include tram and bus lines (https://www.mpk.krakow.pl/en/prices-of-tickets/). The conference venue is located close to several tram and bus stops. The nearest tram stops within a 5-minute walk are Norymberska (coming from the city center) and Ruczaj (coming from the direction of Czerwone Maki P+R). Tram lines 11, 17, 18, 52, 62 (night) stop at these stops. You can find convenient connections around Kraków using Google Maps or the "Jakdojade" application (https://jakdojade.pl/krakow/trasa/), which is available on Google Play and on the AppStore. With the help of the Jakdojade app, you can also purchase electronic tickets for travel. The tram and bus timetables are available here.
The tickets are priced at 6 PLN for a single trip or 60 minutes, or 4 PLN for 20 minutes. They can be purchased with cash or by card at the ticket machines located at most tram or bus stops and aboard each vehicle, or via the app (as mentioned above). Please remember to validate the ticket upon boarding.
